EARTH PRAYER
Sculptures developed as a result of the DYCP award
THE INSTALLATION
Earth Prayer will merge art, technology and spirituality to create a sanctuary within urban spaces. Using light and sound in sculptural forms Earth Prayer will transform a space into an immersive light garden where visitors can step inside and experience a form of synaesthetic storytelling - where light and sound work together to evoke feeling and connection. It will be a journey into a multi-sensory dimension that celebrates our connection to the Earth, our senses and something greater than us to nurture our personal wellbeing and collective harmony.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
Through half or full day creative workshops participants will be able to engage in a hands-on process that deepens their connection to Earth Prayer. They will learn simple techniques, using recycled materials, and apply them either collaboratively to build a large sculpture cultivating creativity and teamwork, or individually to create a small art piece they can take home.
The workshop culminates with the Earth Prayer immersion that offers a uniquely transformative experience that captivates the senses and explores connection with our precious Earth.
A dedicated digital platform extends this impact beyond the physical space, where participants can download the soundtrack, explore ways to support the planet, and make an #EarthPrayer pledge.

INDIVIDUAL MODEL MAKING

COLLABORATIVE SCULPTURE CREATION

GROUP IMMERSION EXPERIENCE
CONTEXT
ART AS A SPIRITUAL TECHNOLOGY
I am a spiritual practitioner using my art form as a spiritual technology - not an artist making art for the sake of art. I work in two key ways - first: by merging art-light-sound to create an immersive, synaesthetic form of storytelling. And second: by facilitating collective prayer - using the immersion experience as a shared act of intention setting in connection to our precious Earth.

ART-LIGHT-SOUND
The installation will act as a sculptural and immersive form of sound-and-light attunement, using high-vibrational frequencies to support brain-wave entrainment. Having trained as a sound healer I understand the capability of sacred sound and it excites me to be able to use this within the context of my art form.

I will draw on the universal symmetry of sevens - seven colours in the spectrum, seven notes in the octave, seven energy centres in the body - and incorporate 963 Hz frequencies associated with higher consciousness. The layered soundtrack will be synchronised with responsive lighting, to create rhythmic colour shifts across the light garden so the audience can see the music they hear and feel. Quotes from Earth-focused philosophers and the invitation to connect more deeply with breath and the present moment will take the audience on a synaesthetic journey into deeper layers of their being and expansion.

Neuroscience research on cross-sensory coherence shows that this type of attunement calms the nervous system and guides the brain into alpha–theta brainwave states, offering a heightened sensory experience with a lasting emotional and energetic imprint.

COLLECTIVE INTENTION
Audiences will be given the invitation to join in setting an intention. Intentional prayer works as a neurophysiological technology and when practiced collectively, creates a measurable field of coherence.
Therefore the immersion will be more than expression - it will be transmission.
Through light, sound, symbolism and group focus, the aim is to shift our state, still the mind, entrain emotion, open perception and invite moments of transcendence, ultimately allowing us to reconnect with something greater than ourselves. In this way, Earth Prayer will function as a form of spiritual technology - one that requires no explanation to be understood, only presence to be felt.
R&D WORK IN PROGRESS

SPECIFICATIONS
The installation will centre on a 5m geodesic dome that forms both the structural framework for the light sculptures and an immersive environment within. It will require two people to install / derig and will meet safety standards for outdoor public art installation such as PAT tested electricals and wind and weather loading. The sculptures are an exploration of form, texture and light integration using polypiping, metalwork, and richly detailed fabric coverings. Integrated Pyroterra lighting technology will synchronise light and sound to create a multi-sensory experience designed to transform perception.
