WHERE'S YOUR WILD
PARTICIPATORY ART WORKSHOPS

Creativity, collaboration and making through nature-inspired textiles.

These textile-art workshops invite young people to explore creativity through fabric, sewing and collective making. Rooted in nature-inspired themes, the sessions combine imagination, practical skill-building and collaboration to create a shared artistic experience.

Designed for participants aged 12–16, the workshops accommodate groups of up to 30 participants and are suitable for schools, festivals and cultural settings.

"An art adventure to re-wild the classroom and our imaginations."

Participants are introduced to a range of accessible textile-art techniques, working across three scales of making:

  • Individual making - participants develop core skills through simple textile processes, creating their own small artwork using colour, texture and form. Designs can be freely imagined or guided by a pattern, allowing for both structure and personal expression.

  • Collaborative making - working in small groups of up to six, participants apply these techniques to create larger, shared pieces, building confidence, communication and teamwork.

  • Collective installation - the group comes together to assemble a larger installation, experiencing how individual contributions can form a cohesive, collective artwork.

The workshops encourage creative confidence, material awareness and cooperation, offering a hands-on way to reconnect with making, imagination and the natural world.

SUSTAINABILITY

Aligned with eco consciousness I use recycled materials wherever possible, sourced from Bristol's Scrapstore or second hand. The sessions include the option to have a short informative discussion on sustainability to raise awareness about environmental responsibility, encouraging participants to rethink lifestyle habits in positive, sustainable ways.

MY ETHOS

I am particularly interested in co-creative participatory art, facilitating students to create something greater than the sum of its parts. I want them to experience that "wow, did I really make that?" moment and realise the magic that happens when we work together towards a shared artistic vision.

In today’s world, I believe it is more important than ever to bring people together through shared creative experiences, cultivating connection, teamwork, and a collective sense of achievement.
