This was a really cool project and one that I was hesitant to get involved with until the word 'Rebel Botany' was mentioned. This somehow sparked my imagination and I knew that I could make some new Rebel Creations and put them to good use.
And what is Rebel Botany you ask? - Well that's a good question. The concept of the project was to not only re wild the garden area in front of the building (which was astro turf) but also to to creatively re wild the inside of the building as well. A botanist had been brought in to take out the turf and fill it with new 'rebel botany' donated by the community so as to bring more bio diversity to the area. And as for re wilding the inside of the building - well that was definitely a mission for The Colour Rebel and Kevin from the KCD Collective kindly invited me on board.

It didn't take long for our collaborative creative juices to get flowing and before long the project had developed into a full blown site specific Audio Creativity Trail. Kevin wanted to develop a new concept of taking kids on an audio journey through the community space (which also consisted of a museum, art gallery, cafe, and out door nature space). I then inputted the idea that we could also turn it into a creativity trail, with different creative tasks to be completed along the way. And Kevin then added that the tasks could be games so suddenly the kids got taken on this sort of mystery-game-crafting-adventure (should they wish to accept...)
Sounded like an awesome idea to me so we got to work creating it!
Using different areas in the community space as much as possible we came up with around seven different games that took around 20 - 30 minutes to complete. Every hour we would gather up a bunch of willing participants and take them on our little magical mystery crafting adventure! Needless to say we had as much fun as the kids.
